Fluff Fest 2011

A three-day Fluff festival with vegan catering takes place from 22nd July to 24th July in Rokycany, the Czech Republic. Both hot and cold vegan meals, ice-cream and other vegan treats are available at the fest as well as more than 30 alternative bands from all over the world.

New Czech kickbox champion is a vegetarian

Czech Vegan Society with the Vegan Fighter project would like to congratulate Lucie Mlejnkova for her titul of the Czech national kickbox champion. Lucie is a vegetarian and describes her vegetarianism as follows: “Soon after I stopped eating meat I realized its health benefits as well as the fact that it helps my soul. Even though I have to work out very hard I have no problems with my exercise or competition fighting for I choose proper meals to eat so I get enough plant-based protein.” We thank Lucka for this tremendous achievement as well as her attitude which helps the animals. We also hold our fingers crossed for her future success.

Third Loving Hut restaurant in Prague

Yet another Loving Hut restaurant has been opened recently in the Novy Smichov shopping center at Andel in Prague.

This particular restaurant has similar menu to the rest of Loving Hut restaurants in Prague, however their opening hours are till 10p.m. every day.

A new vegan restaurant in Prague was opened yesterday. It’s called Vegan City and bears a very similar resemblance to Loving Hut restaurants.

Czech superheavyweight Muay Thai world champion is a vegan

A long-time vegetarian and a world’s super heavyweight Muay Thai champion Jan Müller turned vegan last year. We are working on an interview with the champ, in which he is going to tell us more about the reasons why he chose the vegan diet. Meanwhile, let us invite you to his next fight, which shall take place in the Czech Republic at the Kings of the Ring event during this fall in Brno.

It is going to be his anniversary 50th fight. He won in 43 of his ring encouneters from which 30 were KOs. There are many prestige awards among his achievements, such as the already mentioned world’s champion title of the WKA association, european S1 and Czech Professional Champion title, belt of the international German pro champion, first place in the K1 European Warrior tournament, first place in the prestige King’s cup tournament in Bangkok and the second place in the King of the Ring event.

His next fight will be probably held according to the full thai rules - it means with the elbow hits, which is commonly not practised.

A message from Moby to all Czech vegans

The chairman of CVS met Moby during the last year’s Sázava festival and had the opportunity to ask him a few questions. According to his own words Moby is a very active persopn as far as vegansim and animal rights are concerned and he works with several organisations, which deal with these issues. Even one of Moby’s albums, released in 1996, is called Animal Rights.

A forty-three years old Richard Mellvile Hall aka Moby paid a visit to some of the vegan restaurants in Prague and was very pleased by the Czech vegan food. His message for all Czech vegans is plain and simple: “You are doing the right thing.”
